What Sheila has to say about her work:

Several years ago, after having established and served my clients in my private practice in traditional individual and family therapy, I came to the conclusion that I could somehow be more helpful to my clients, in their attempts to become more fulfilled and joyful in their lives. I also felt that I needed to “go back to the drawing board”-to take a step back from my practice, to take more time to explore other wellness and healing modalities and approaches which I could ultimately offer my clients in their desire to become more emotionally, physically and spiritually healthy.

I closed my counseling practice for a few years. During that time, I embarked on my own journey of awareness and growth, reading, studying, exploring and experiencing for myself, furthering my own personal journey toward greater integrative wellness, recognizing that in order for me to be helpful to my clients, that I needed to pursue my own journey.

I studied with giants such as Bernie Siegel, who has been one of the pioneers in raising our collective awareness of the importance of the Mind-Body-Spirit connections. My passion for integrated wellness led me in many different directions of inquiry, including the exploration of the multitudes of ways that wellness can and must be achieved. I began to discover various nutritional solutions to what many perceived to be emotional problems. I then began to discover various paths to physical wellness which could be achieved through the doorway of thought, intention, and spiritual growth.

Thus, less than two years ago, I began to offer clients my new and improved approach to integrative wellness which I call: “Mind-Body-Spirit Coaching”.

The Coaching model which I have developed is based on the presumption of wellness, not pathology. In the Coaching paradigm, the therapist becomes coach, mentor, and cheer-leader, and the patient becomes the empowered client. For me as coach, it is about my becoming a mentor and guide to my clients, facilitating my client’s personal growth and reaching his/her highest potential. As I continue to grow personally and to add to my own storehouse of modalities for reaching optimum integrated wellness, I offer these to my clients.

During the past few years, I have become a “Workshop & Seminar Junkie”, traveling throughout the United States, Europe and Israel, studying with the best of the best, the most enlightened among us all, so that I might bring back to myself and to my clients the benefits of this ongoing cutting-edge learning.

I believe that each of us is an ongoing “work in progress”-that each of us in on a journey, and that there are no coincidences.

I believe that there is a God, and that this God wants each of us to be the best we can be, the most we can become, and to be a part of making this world a better, more loving a peaceful place to Be.

Although I express my private spiritual self in the framework of Judaism, I subscribe to a larger Spiritual context: My Judaism is specific to me, alone; I do not impose my private religious context on any other person. However, I DO bring my larger Spiritual context into my professional work.

I believe that each human being is born perfect, with a perfect soul, and that the best “therapy” is in the form of “coaching”, to help the client to rediscover that inherent perfection and to live a life that is healthy and full of joy and fulfillment.

I know with a certainty that this can be each person’s reality.
